01 Background

Training and focus

After completing my vocational training as an event technology specialist I passed the master craftsman examination. This combines hands-on work on lighting and video with responsibility for planning, safety and leading the technical crew on site.

My focus areas are lighting design and programming, video technology and vision mixing, and the technical management of larger productions. Planning is done in Vectorworks Spotlight, the industry standard for stage and rigging drawings. On the same basis I also produce escape, rescue and fire brigade plans.

An equally large share of the work is systems technology: often the design comes from elsewhere and my job is to make sure the rig stands, is cleanly cabled and runs throughout the event. For me the two belong together.

The business is based in Wiedemar, north of Leipzig. I work throughout Germany and across Europe.
