Services at a glance

As a Certified Master of Event Technology I take care of planning, installation and operation. Bookable for single event days or for the entire production.

01 Lighting

Lighting design and operation

I develop the lighting concept, programme it and run it during the event. Whether it is clean illumination for speakers and cameras or a timecoded show: the result is a lighting picture that suits the occasion and supports the content instead of distracting from it.

  • Lighting concept and pre-programming
  • Rigging, focusing and lamp check on site
  • Operating during the event
  • Timecode show creation

02 Video

Video and vision mixing

LED walls, projection, media playback and live camera feeds work together. I plan the signal paths, install them and run vision mixing during the event, so that presentations, video clips and live footage follow the agreed running order.

  • LED walls and projection
  • Media servers and playback
  • Signal distribution and conversion
  • Vision mixing and clip playback during the show

03 Systems

Systems technician on site

A large part of my work is systems technology: I build the rig, commission it and keep it running throughout the event. The design often comes from someone else, for instance the production's lighting designer or the client's own specification.

On tours and larger productions this is the norm: there is a designer, and someone is needed to make the technology work and keep it working. That is exactly what I do, for lighting as well as for video.

  • Set-up and commissioning of the rig
  • Signal paths, networking and power distribution
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting during the show
  • Support for lighting design, vision control and production management

04 Technical management

Technical management and coordination

On larger productions lighting, audio, video, staging, rigging and power supply all interlock. I take on the technical management, coordinate the trades and act as the central contact on site. On request also as the responsible person for event technology under German assembly venue regulations.

  • Technical planning and schedule
  • Coordination with venue and suppliers
  • Managing set-up and load-out
  • Contact person throughout the event

05 Planning and drawings

From the drawing to the build

So that everything fits together on the day, the plans are drawn up beforehand. I work with Vectorworks Spotlight, the industry standard for event drawings.

Technical planning

Lighting design and stage plans

I draw stage, truss and positions to scale, plan the fixture positions and pre-visualise the lighting looks. You see what it will look like before you commit.

  • Stage and rigging plans in Vectorworks Spotlight
  • Lighting design with preview of the looks
  • Equipment and cable lists for the build
  • Drawings as PDF for everyone involved
Safety

Escape, rescue and fire brigade plans

Events in assembly venues require plans for escape and rescue routes, often a fire brigade plan as well. I produce these based on the existing building drawings.

  • Escape and rescue route plans
  • Fire brigade plans
  • Seating and escape route planning
  • Documents for submission to the authorities

06 How it works

How we work together

From enquiry to load-out in three steps.

  1. Step 01

    Enquiry and reply

You tell me the date, the venue and the scope. I usually reply the same or the next working day and clear up any open points.

  2. Step 02

    Quote and planning

You receive a quote with clearly itemised positions. Once confirmed, I plan the equipment, the schedule and the logistics and coordinate with the venue.

  3. Step 03

    Build, show, load-out

Set-up on schedule, operation during the event, then load-out and packing. Nothing for you to take care of.

Does this fit your project?

Tell me the date, the venue and the scope. That is enough for a first assessment.
